"The Compton Cookout"
One of UCSD's fraternities recently had a party called the "Compton Cookout," which I am absolutely confused about, particularly with my emotions. I know I should be offended, but for some reason, I feel like this is how we are represented by the famous Black people (no other way of saying it). Basically this proves my point about slavery and racism (my other post) still existing and society is blinded by it, especially the black community. But then again I feel like we it bring upon ourselves and we do not even realize it, not us persay, but the Black people in the media, specifically rappers. I mean the more niggerish you are the better. The more thirsty you are to buy lemonade diamond bracelets that make you look fruity, the better you are to represent the Black community. I feel like these are the qualifications for the white man to sign a rapper and write those nice checks; to make the Black man feel like he is worthy, when he is just digging himself in a deeper hole.   MY POINT IS THAT IT IS NOT OKAY FOR THESE STUDENTS TO MAKE A MOCKERY OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY AND IT IS NOT OKAY FOR BLACK PEOPLE TO ACCEPT IT, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY IT IS NOT OKAY FOR BLACK PEOPLE TO PRAISE THE IGNORANCE OF OTHER BLACKS WHO ARE SUPPOSE TO REPRESENT US.

this is how they see us
